"Bishop Dr. David Adu Betle" founder and president of HEAVENGATE BIBLE MISSION WORLDWIDE from 1993 to date, after 10 years of preaching the Everlasting Gospel to "All Nations" he  founded Gate Stars Football Club in the year 2oo3. 

He started Gate Stars  F/C in Somanya, Eastern Region of Ghana, West Africa as Colts Academy U-17 Team with a few players and his ambition was to help young talented players out of the Street and to put God fearing into the youth, giving them positive future and making them to realize the potential in them and also knowing the power of God. 

His football club was also one of the outline program aside musical and Agriculture programs of the youth in the mission.

 His club made its way through the Third Division Middle League in the year 2007/2008 to join the Division Two League of Eastern Region of Ghana while having the 2007 Middle League Cup under his belt.

  His club was rated the number one Division Two Football Club in the Eastern Regional League by media houses, referees, match officials, club chairmen and soccer fans.

 

  His Club has won 80% of all matches since it entered into Eastern Regional Division Two League in 2008, and has won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Division Two League Cups respectively.

His club, for its first time participated in the FA cup competition alongside with the Premier Division Clubs and did credible well in the MTN FA Cup 2010|2011 Finals.

In 2010 his club was rated as one of the best team in Eastern Region of Ghana and he was elected as one of the best Chairman to represent Eastern Region Football Association of Ghana in South Africa 2010 world cup.

  His Club is also three times successive champions (2003, 2007and 2009) of KLOYOSIKPLEMI FESTIVAL GALA CUP in Ghana.

The Club has also won the first President’s National FARMER’s DAY MAIDEN CHALLENGE CUP in 2010 in Ghana.

The Team also played and won National and International friendly matches with leading Division One and Premier Teams in  The Republics of Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
